How Automatic Trade Syncing Works
Connect a supported trading account and TraderWaves will bring your trades into your journal and analytics automatically. Here are the answers to the most common questions about syncing.
How syncing works
Once you connect a supported account, TraderWaves automatically brings your trades into your journal and analytics. This means you can review your performance without entering every trade yourself.
Connect your trading account using the instructions for your platform. TraderWaves will import the trade history available from that account. If Auto Sync is enabled, it will check for new trades when you log in. You can also select Sync from the Dashboard whenever you want to update your data.
Your new trades should appear after Auto Sync runs or you select Sync from the Dashboard. Syncing may take a few minutes, so do not worry if a trade does not appear immediately.
TraderWaves will import as much history as your broker, platform or exchange provides. The amount of older trade history available can vary between connections.
No. TraderWaves imports your trading data for journaling and analysis, but it cannot place, change or close trades.
Connections and accounts
Yes! Essential lets you connect up to three trading accounts, while Pro gives you unlimited connected accounts. You can also connect accounts from different supported platforms. See Plans, Limits and Subscription Management for more information. See Pricing for exactly what is included in Pro.
Turning off Auto Sync will stop automatic updates, but it will not delete the trades already in your journal.
Choose your platform from our integration and connection guides to see exactly what login details, server information or API permissions you need.
First, check our list of supported brokers and platforms. If an automatic connection is not available, you can still add trades manually or import them using a CSV file. You can also contact support to request a new integration.
Missing or delayed trades
First, check that you have selected the correct account and date range and that your filters are not hiding the trade. Select Sync again and allow a few minutes for it to appear. If it is still missing, check your connection and follow our troubleshooting guide.
